Could you talk a little more about faith? - by Ben Bonython
Faith should have an effect on our lives, our thinking, our attitude, our outlook, our actions.
What does faith look like in these uncertain times?
Speak with another person, we shared about the trickle effect of fear, and the unknown. Before you know it, you have had your life’s glass filled with the murky waters of fear. But what I discovered again was the importance of just talking about faith with my friend.
How is faith mentioned in the Word? What are the ideas and feelings that accompany faith? In the bible, what seems to happen when faith is exercised or spoke about?
As I continued to talk about faith with my friend generally, I found that ‘faith’ was being poured into my life’s glass, and as we talked and encouraged each other, fear was displaced by our faith discussion. This was a powerful reminder of both faith, and sharing faith. A reminder of faith at work in my own heart and mind, and its overflow effect to another, and from another.
I want to be a child of Abraham - I want my life to carry that marker and DNA of Abraham, the father of faith. I want to be like those who put their faith in God, and I want that faith, a gift from God, to effect my life, my thinking, my attitude, my outlook, my actions….
Thank you to my friends in the faith! May you too call and contact your friends and encourage them in the faith!
Galatians 3:6-9
6 In the same way, "Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith."
7 The real children of Abraham, then, are those who put their faith in God. 8 What's more, the Scriptures looked forward to this time when God would declare the Gentiles to be righteous because of their faith. God proclaimed this good news to Abraham long ago when he said, "All nations will be blessed through you." 9 So all who put their faith in Christ share the same blessing Abraham received because of his faith.
