Where are you planted by Ben Bonython

This is a picture of our front brick wall and in the crack of the mortar, grew a small plant.
How could anything grow in the small crack of mortar in a brick wall?

This plant is amazing!  The problem however is that this little plant lacks roots - there was no way for the roots to grow.  Jesus told a parable about a sower in Matthew 13.  Jesus said that some seed fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. The plant sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plant was scorched, and withered because they had no root.

There are many things in our world that grab our attention, yet like this little amazing plant, it will pass away because it lacks roots.  Jesus has called us to a life where we reproduce but this requires good soil.  We were created to grow tall, but also grow deep.

Take time to grow your roots in Jesus. Learn more about him because while no one can see the roots, when the sun comes up, you will not wither.  Jesus desires relationship with you and from those roots planted in Him, you will produce a crop!

While the little plant got my attention, the other plants in my garden are still there - this little one is gone.
